hsuan kuan : the mysterious gate to the castle
When you start seeing Hsuan Kuan, that's very cool. Seeing something is something else then feeling stuff. When you see hsuan Kuan you know that Neidan isn't complete fantasy and that you're on the right track. When you always see Hsuan Kuan, whether your eyes are open or closed, you will always know that alchemy is hyperreal.
At first you see an unclear round dot floating across, when you have your eyes closed. Learn how to keep it on one spot by concentrating en getting it back to the centre of you're visual field by moving you're eyes. Once you've learned how to keep it on one spot, you can let it make circles, to get more used to it. Several texts suggest that you must move Hsuan Kuan to certain places in your body. Don't believe that. This is not about your body, You're past turning jing to chi now.
Once you see Hsuan Kuan it will not disappear (as long as you stay on the path). Once you know how to keep it stable, it won't get unstable again. That's one of the cool things about alchemy. Once you have made a step, it's done and stays done, you can concentrate on the next step. During you're alchemical progress, Hsuan Kuan will get brighter and more radiant. When you use psychedelics its at the centre of your inner lightshow.
Hsuan Kuan is seen with you're third eye. Maybe your third eye is the pineal gland. Rick Strassman thinks so. What you see is as much part of your inner world as it is of the outer world. it's as much part of this world as it is of the other dimension(s). It is the mysterious.gate to Dao itself. In alchemical texts it's referred to as the pellet, as the mysterious pearl and as the full moon. Often those terms are said to refer tho the elxir. That's wrong, once you've seen Hsuan kuan, you know it's a pearl and the moon. It's also right, because there is no real difference between the gate and the castle, between the elixir and the embryo. That's because Dao is the way and the destination alike.
Hsuan Kuan is the One opening of the Mysterious Female. It's like a vortex. In the two-dimensional form it is stable. The opening is always there to enter. But in three-dimensional form, it is not stable. When you reach the final step of turning Shen to Shiu and you succeed in entering the Divine Female, it becomes three-dimensional. Dao surrounds you everywhere. But it lasts only as long as you can advance the Yang. As soon as you fail in withdrawing the Yin, the three-dimensional embrace of the Dao dissappears and Hsuan Kuan retracts to its two-dimensional form.
