Turning shen into Shiu
From 1 to 0
The centre for this step is the upper dantien
At this stage you stop doing your alchemical . You start non-doing.
Wu wei. No intervening, no peddling upstream, no struggle, no effort, just going with the flow of Tao
Don't drink the elixir, be filled by it
Don't swallow the millet, be swallowed by it
Don't look for the light, be shined upon
Don't enter the gate to the castle, dissolve into the Tao
It's not easy, not doing stuff.
therefore you can use three stages in your meditation
step1) no body
step2) no thoughts
step3) no self
In this stage of turning Shen to Shiu, there's much less doubt whether you're on the right track.
As always, follow the bliss. And at this stage, the bliss is hard to miss.
The time to complete this step is a long time
you start by three years of babysitting: Your real body, Fa Shen, the spiritual body, still needs your illusory body, the fysical body, to be near
As Liu Yiming advises: advance the Yang.
This is the precelestial Yang, the elixir itself. Be filled by it.
Enter the Mysterious Female. Hsuanguan is no longer a circle ahead of you. It's all around.
Become one with the Dao
It isn't hard, because you don't do anything. It's Wuwei.
But continuing to do nothing is very hard.
The soon you start doing stuff, you again enter the postcelestial domain.
Therefore Liu Yiming also advises to withdraw the Yin. This is the postcelestial Yin
Postcelestial Yin pertains any form of intention. It is the stuff from which actual activity is born. The actual activity is the postcelestial Yang. That's making a cup of tea. You don't risk suddenly making tea when you dwell effortlessly in the realm of the Tao.But you do risk thinking about a cup of tea. When you start thinking about this: withdraw.
Withdraw when you start thinking, withdraw when you start feeling (whether it is happyness or sadness or any other feeling) Withdraw when you are proud of yourself because you've entered the Divine Female. Withdraw when you are proud of the Dao itself. When you meet the Buddha, kill him.
The sky is my skull
Dao fills my empty mind
